Mike Beck is a Managing Director and Partner with over 25 years of experience across the financial industry, bringing a deep investment background to his work with clients. Within asset management and financial planning, he focuses on tax-advantaged investment strategies, qualified plans, and insurance. Mike holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Before transitioning to financial advisory work, Mike spent 18 years in institutional finance, working with hedge funds and asset managers on both the investment and leveraged finance sides of the business. His institutional experience spans capital structure arbitrage, corporate restructurings, distressed investments, and bankruptcies — a foundation that informs how he analyzes complexity and communicates strategy to clients today. He graduated cum laude from Miami University in Ohio with a degree in finance and is a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco.
Mike has served on the Mark Day School Board of Trustees since 2022. A Pittsburgh native and lifelong Steelers fan, he made his way to California from New York about nine years ago. When he’s not working, you’ll find him with his wife and two kids – traveling the world or exploring everything the Bay Area has to offer, from golf and skiing to competitive cornhole and anything else that gets him outside.
